Box at UC Davis is a cloud-hosted data storage and collaboration service and tool. Box enables you to store lots of large files, collaborate with others around the world, and access your data anywhere on any device.
Box has been approved for storage of all university data except “Restricted Data” as defined by UC Business and Finance Bulletin IS-2. Some examples of Restricted Data that cannot be stored in Box include the following:
• Electronic Private Health Information (ePHI) data such as patient records
• Credit card, social security, or driver’s license numbers
• Human research subjects

Box is not approved for any use by UCD Health System users.
In addition to the Box Storage and Use Guidelines, each user must use Box in accordance with the UC Davis Acceptable Use Policy, as well as the Box Acceptable Use Policy.
